I know I have written a lot recently about 3-D printing, but this story is so cool I couldn’t help sharing it today. It’s just one more incredible 3-D printing solution in healthcare. This time, according to wired.co.uk, a team of neurosurgeons at the University Medical Center at Utrecht performed an operation to help a woman avoid serious brain damage or death which would have been caused by a rare bone disorder.
The 22-year-old woman from the Netherlands had the top of her skull removed and replaced with a 3D printed implant.
