Painless Tattoo-Sensor to Detect Glucose Levels

Scientists in the Department of NanoEngineering at the University of California, San Diego have developed a proof-of-concept for a Tattoo-Based Noninvasive Glucose Monitor. This is a very thin, flexible, wearable device that sticks to skin like a rub-on tattoo and can detect a person’s glucose levels in the fluid just under the skin. The sensor, reported in a proof-of-concept study in the ACS journal Analytical Chemistry, has the potential to eliminate finger-pricking for many people with diabetes. Read more at:
